Woods of Decatur is a residential apartment community in Decatur, GA that serves modern urban renters seeking quality, comfortable housing. After a fire event impacted several units, a full-scale recovery initiative was launched to restore structural integrity, safety, and the cohesive visual identity of the property. The project included comprehensive site visits, field surveys, and compliance with Decatur’s fire inspection protocols, engaging the city's Design, Environment & Construction and Fire Marshal divisions to ensure plan reviews and inspections at critical phases . This structured, standards-based approach was essential to returning the property to a safe, comfortable, and code-compliant condition.
Our firm’s work began with initial site visits and surveys to document the fire-damaged areas, followed by the preparation of detailed interior renovation plans and construction documents. Restoration efforts entailed repairing or replacing fire-impacted drywall and insulation, damaged doors, windows, window frames, cabinets, countertops, flooring materials, HVAC units and duct systems, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures. Each component was specified and constructed under coordinated permit submittals, including required 50%, 80%, and final (100%) inspections through Decatur’s Fire Marshal process . Through this thorough planning and execution, we successfully restored Woods of Decatur to a fully habitable, aesthetically unified residential environment that aligns with both ownership expectations and city regulatory standards.
