ESD Celebrates Grand Opening of New Injection Molding Facility in Gainesville, Georgia
January 20, 2026
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026 - ESD, a growing leader in plastic injection molding solutions, celebrated the grand opening of its newly completed facility in Gainesville, Georgia on Tuesday morning. The event marked a significant milestone for the company as it expands its operational capacity and positions itself for future growth within the manufacturing sector.
The new 100,000-square-foot plastic mold facility underwent extensive interior renovation and structural upgrades to meet the specialized needs of modern injection molding operations. While the building’s exterior shell was maintained, the project concentrated on major improvements inside the plant, including strategic layout modifications and critical structural reinforcement.
Structural Design Tailored for Heavy Machinery
One of the central engineering challenges of the project involved the installation of three large injection molding machines, each requiring substantial load-bearing support. The existing concrete slab, originally not designed for such heavy industrial equipment, had to be partially demolished.
In its place, a new structurally engineered concrete pad was designed and installed, calculated to support the significant static and dynamic loads of the machines. This upgrade ensures long-term durability, vibration control, and reliable performance of the molding equipment.
Efficient Use of Office and Production Space
To maximize operational efficiency, ESD implemented a redesigned interior layout that better utilizes the building’s existing—previously vacant—office space. The reconfiguration provides improved workflow, enhances visibility between departments, and creates opportunities for future administrative expansion.
In addition, the facility’s storage area was intentionally designed without a separate ceiling, a cost‑saving approach that maintains functionality while reducing unnecessary construction expenses.
A Milestone Moment for ESD
The morning ceremony brought together ESD team members, project partners, and local stakeholders to commemorate the opening. Company representatives highlighted the facility as a symbol of ESD’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and long-term investment in Gainesville’s manufacturing landscape.
The new plant is expected to strengthen ESD’s production capabilities, support new business opportunities, and positively impact the local economy through expanded operations and job growth.
As ESD begins full-scale activities at the Gainesville facility, the company looks forward to leveraging its upgraded space and equipment to deliver high-quality injection molded products and services for years to come.
