Hyundai Power Transformer USA, located in Montgomery, Alabama, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing high-voltage power transformers for utility companies and large-scale energy infrastructure across North America. Spanning over 180,000 square feet, this advanced facility plays a critical role in supporting Hyundai's global energy solutions portfolio. As part of its mission to maintain operational excellence and regulatory compliance, Hyundai undertook a site-wide infrastructure improvement project focused on safety, accessibility, and utility readiness.
Our contributions to the Hyundai Power Transformer facility encompassed both site-level improvements and full-scale architectural and engineering services for the 224,432-square-foot building. The project began with the acquisition and coordination of hazard storage permits, a critical component for ensuring regulatory compliance given the nature of on-site industrial materials. We also secured a hazard permit for specific operational zones within the facility.
On the site development side, we provided design and planning for landscaping, pavement systems, fencing layout, and parking areas to improve both the function and appearance of the property. Comprehensive waterproofing solutions were implemented to protect below-grade spaces and critical structural components. Additionally, we coordinated the layout and design of underground utilities to support future scalability and uninterrupted operations.
Inside the building, we executed full A.S.M.E.P. (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) services, aligning every system with Hyundai’s technical and operational requirements. We also designed an on-site pit system tailored to the facility’s unique industrial workflows.
From permits to pavement and structural detailing, our integrated approach has helped Hyundai Power Transformer USA maintain its high standards of safety, performance, and readiness for continued expansion.
